Flash floods in Songkhla

Flash floods in Songkhla

Several districts in Songkhla province have been hit with a second wave of flooding due to flash floods travelling from a national park.

Unseasonal heavy rains since Thursday night in districts adjacent to the Tong Nga Chang park cause sudden flooding there, and the flood water is now travelling to lowerlying districts of Thepha, Na Thawi, Chana and certain areas in metropolitan Hat Yai.

Waisthigh flood water levels have been reported in two villages in a tambon in Hat Yai district. There is no information about overall casualties or economic loss reported so far.

Food supplies and drinking water have been readied for residents living at homes alongside a major canal in Hat Yai city for emergency use, or possible evacuation due to likely flash floods.
