3 drug suspects killed in shooting with police in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai - Three drug suspects were killed allegedly while resisting arrest, police said.

Police said the three opened fire at police when police were about to arrest them at a spot on a road in Chiang Dao district at 7 am.

Acting on tip-off, police staked out at the spot and saw a ma driving a pick-up truck to meet two teenage boys on a motorcycle with a huge back.

When police came out and wanted to check the bag, the three opened fire at the officers, leading to a gunfight for about 10 minutes.

The three were killed at the scene. They were later identified as Lao-ur (surname unknown), Withoon Leryipa and Siengchun Saelee.

Police found 50,000 methamphetamine pills inside the bag.
